I’m proud and honored to endorse brother Jim Skaggs for Supreme Council. You won’t find anyone that comes close to having the determination, perseverance, and enthusiasm that lies within Jim Skaggs. His passion and love for SAE and its brothers are second to none. From day one of joining the fraternity, Jim made a huge impact on me and my life, guiding me by becoming a member; because that’s who he is, not just a good brother but also a good man, someone who puts others before himself selfless. Because of Jim, the brothers continue to uphold what it means to be a true gentleman.

Jim Skaggs was a rock for me during my time as EA, always offering great counsel and plenty of wisdom. What sets him apart is his unmatched passion for SAE - not only for the broader fraternity as a whole - but for the individual men of each chapter, and alumni all over the world. Every day since joining the fraternity, Jim has made it better. I proudly endorse him for Supreme Council because he will not only fill a role, he will make an impact.

In the 10 years I have known Jim Skaggs, my admiration for his commitment and dedication to the SAE brotherhood has grown infinitely. As the founder of Oklahoma Sigma at the University of Central Oklahoma, Jim has spent nearly 30 years in service to the Fraternity – on both house corporation and national committees. I cannot think of a more experienced or professional person to serve as our next Eminent Supreme Chronicler. It is without hesitation I highly recommend we elect Jim Skaggs to the Supreme Council.

Jim Skaggs has been a foundation of leadership for the Oklahoma Mu Chapter for 30 years as an undergraduate; Jim’s mentorship and support were crucial in the turnaround of our chapter and my growth as a leader. Because of Jim’s mentorship, I was named Outstanding Eminent Archon, and Oklahoma Mu was nominated for the John O. Moseley Award for Fraternity Zeal in 2002. Oklahoma Mu brought home the award in 2004. Due to Jim’s inspiration, I joined the Oklahoma Mu Corporation Board to help mentor the current members as he did for me. Through Jim’s mentorship of me as a Board Member and his mentorship of the Undergraduate Members, in 2013, Oklahoma Mu again won the John O. Moseley Award for Fraternity Zeal. Brother Skaggs loves Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the Oklahoma Mu Chapter, but most importantly, Jim loves and truly cares about his brothers. Jim will be an outstanding addition to the Supreme Council.

I met Jim Skaggs six years ago at the Newport Beach convention. Since that time I have come to believe that he’s one of the best ΣΑΕ’s I’ve ever met. He is truly passionate about the health of his chapter and his province and faithfully serves the fraternity as a member of the F&H board. He is by far the best man for the job. Voting for Jim is a vote to protect ΣΑΕ for future generations.

I am honored and pleased to endorse my husband Jim for Supreme Council. Jim has three main passions in his life, family, friends, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. We both have been very blessed with the friendships formed due to dealing with the chapter actives and the many committees and events that Jim and I both have participated in. We are truly an SAE partnership. Jim is a great listener and strives to find the best in every situation. I have no doubt he will be a great addition to the Supreme Council.

From the moment Jim Skaggs joined our fraternity in 1974, he has done nothing but put others before himself, and he truly embodies what it means to be a True Gentleman. He has worked tirelessly and selflessly during his time in our brotherhood as pledge class president, as the two-time housing corporation President, as well as Province Archon of Province Sigma, where he not only helped the men of OK MU rise above but also helped charter the Oklahoma Sigma chapter at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Jim Skaggs loves to work at the chapter level, and doesn’t just say it, he is always there to help. Jim is a very active board member and always ready to help with important events, such as recruitment, the lifeblood of a fraternity. Jim is great at really getting involved and helping on the ground floor, giving him the perfect and needed perspective for a national position. He gets the most joy out of helping chapter members at that level. From the moment of joining the bonds of Oklahoma Mu, Jim has been nothing but helpful. He reaches out to members in need of assistance daily. He helps the chapter through rough patches whether internal or external. Jim is a great role model and displays every trait of a True Gentleman.
Brother Skaggs has consistently shown that his heart is pure and that his love for our brotherhood is unmatched by all but the most dedicated to the bonds of brotherhood. He has been awarded the Order of the Lion, the Order of Minerva, and the Merit Key. In every possible way, he is more than deserving of the role of Supreme Council.

I served on the Oklahoma Mu House Corporation Board with Jim for over seven years. We averaged seven to eight meetings a year, and Jim and I normally car-pooled from north Oklahoma City to Stillwater for the meetings.
I can tell you that Jim's love for our fraternity knows no bounds. He is always thinking about the next decade and the decade after that and how we can keep SAE strong for generations to come.
We all know about how much time he has donated to the fraternity. But in addition to that, Jim can connect with active chapter members and with alumni from many different eras and backgrounds. Jim will make a great addition to the Supreme Council.

You would have to go back to 1856 and the founding years of our fraternity to find brothers who have given more of their life to Sigma Alpha Epsilon than brother Jim Skaggs. Jim is a friend, mentor, and part of the foundation of Oklahoma Mu. He cares deeply about the fraternity and brothers across the realm. He loves Oklahoma Mu, but I have witnessed him help countless provinces and other chapters over the years. The fraternity needs more men like Jim, that care deeply and will do what is best for SAE above their own personal goals and agendas. I whole heartedly support Jim and endorse him for this position and would be happy to speak to anyone that needs further validation. As a brother who served under Jim as an undergrad and has stayed friends far into my alumni years, I can tell you Jim is the right man for this role, and will not let the Fraternity down.

In 2018, at an SAE dinner sponsored by Brother Jim Skaggs and his wife Sally, I found that I had been seated next to Brother and General Will Grimsley. During dinner Brother Grimsley posed the question, “What adjective describes the perfect Brother?” The answer? DEPENDABLE.
In the more than thirty years that I have worked almost daily with Brother Skaggs on matters that concern our chapter at Oklahoma State, Province Sigma, the University, or Sigma Alpha Epsilon nationally, no one has been or continues to be more dependable. Nearly every day he has initiated a discussion to advance our fraternity. Almost weekly he has traveled to visit the chapter in Stillwater, or to talk to administrators at the University, or traveled thousands of miles over the enormous Province Sigma as Province Archon. Moreover, he is the guy you can count on to make the House Corporation meetings, find a time to help organize a Founders’ Day, support an initiation, or drive the distance, however far, to the wedding of a young brother or to the funeral of a brother we have loved and lost. Jim Skaggs always makes an effort. The result of these efforts and experiences—what those of us around here at Oklahoma Mu call “majoring in fraternity and minoring in business”—is that Jim is current in almost all aspects of the fraternity.
Very few of us ever have the chance or make the effort to prepare for a position on the Supreme Council. As the speed of change in education and fraternity continues to increase, we need to choose the man best prepared to meet the challenges that will come from these changes. With this future in mind, I enthusiastically endorse Brother Jim Skaggs for the position of Supreme Council.

On the corporation board Jim helped guide Oklahoma Mu and shape men to embody the true gentleman. Jim was a mentor to hundreds of men guiding them through their education, fraternal endeavors, and professional aspirations. He has hands-on chapter experience that is needed at the national level.

I am writing to express my support for Jim Skaggs candidacy for Supreme Council for Sigma Alpha Epsilon. With over 30 years of experience with House Corporation leadership and Province Archon experience Jim has provided leadership in Province Epsilon that has enabled chapters in that province to offer personal growth for the members of those chapters. As the House Corporation President for Mother Mu at the University of Alabama, I see his collective experience as the reason we should elect Jim Skaggs for the Supreme Council.

I have known Jim Skaggs for many years as a fellow Oklahoma State University Alumnus. He has been very active in promoting a strong message to OSU and other university students the importance of not "Drinking and Driving". Losing my Mother and Niece to a drunk driver many years ago, Jim knew me and asked if I would talk to incoming freshman fraternity and sorority students at a large gathering he organized. This program is incredible in helping deliver this very important message. Jim cares about students and people and is very well respected in our community. I highly recommend Jim for Any position in the National SAE organization.

To all my Brothers in Sigma Alpha Epsilon,
It is a great honor for me to heartily endorse James Skaggs as a candidate for the Supreme Council of our fraternity. Jim has long been active in the undergraduate and alumni efforts to support and advance Oklahoma Mu. He was very active and instrumental in its achievement in twice receiving the SAE Chapter Zeal Award. He has also served as Province Sigma Archon and many other Province Sigma positions. He served as Secretary of the SAE
Financial and Housing Corporation.
His interest and service in these fraternity positions is well-known and respected by all who know him.
